To apply and register as an NNIN/C member and obtain an account on the FAS “odyssey” cluster, please complete the registration for NNIN/CNS as directed below.
(1) CNS/NNIN registration
- Go to http://www.cns.fas.harvard.edu/ and under User Info click “How do I become a NNIN/CNS user ?”
- The instructions are subdivided into Harvard and non-Harvard users. Click the appropriate link.
- Fill out the requisite forms and e-mail them in, as described in the instructions.
(A) For Harvard Users that includes two forms: Application form and Registration form. Also, the application form requests that you attach your proposal (please don’t forget this). This is a one page description of your nanoscience project. The instructions for completing this material is in the relevant CNS web page.
(B) Non-Harvard users will also need to fill out a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Currently there is no cost to usage of NNIN/C facilities, but this MOU document still requires signatures of appropriate people in your institution. Non-Harvard users must also fill out the registration and application forms discussed in (A) above. Please note: computational users do not need to fill out a “billing information form” as there is no charge for any of our services.
NOTE: in contrast to the instructions on the CNS web pages for laboratory users, computation users may submit both application (with proposal) and registration forms simultaneously.
Please note: all of these forms must be filled out and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, or delivered in hardcopy to James Reynolds, Center for Nanoscale Systems, Harvard University, LISE Building, 3rd floor, Cambridge, MA 02138
(2) Odyssey cluster registration:
When you have completed the NNIN registration process and have been informed of acceptance, you need to apply to the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Research Computing division at http://rc.fas.harvard.edu/request.
On this webform, please include “Michael Stopa/CNS” as faculty sponsor and email@example.com as the sponsor’s email address.
Do not complete (2) if:
Note that if you are applying/registering as an NNIN member but NOT applying for an account on our compute cluster (e.g. you are just downloading some software packages, having simulations done for you by NNIN members or receiving consultation on computational matters from NNIN personnel) then, of course, you do not need to complete part (2) above.
Address all issues to: Michael Stopa, Director: National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network Computation Project, Center for Nanoscale Systems, LISE Building 316, Harvard University, 11 Oxford St., Cambridge, MA 02138, phone: 617-496-6932, firstname.lastname@example.org.
