More Info:
This facility at CNS provides laboratory space, instruments, tools, and training for researchers working, or planning to work, with nanoparticles. The facility has amenities such as two state-of-the-art wet benches (one for solvents and the other for acids and bases), a HEPA/Carbon-filtered hood to provide a safe environment when working with dry nanoparticles, generous bench-top work areas with various tools and supplies, a glove box with nitrogen and vacuum lines, a planetary ball mill for making nanoparticles from bulk material, a centrifuge to process nanoparticle suspensions, ultrasonic baths and a probe sonifier, a lyophilizer (freeze-dryer) to dry nanoparticle suspensions, a rotary evaporator to concentrate suspensions, analytical balances, and a state-of-the-art particle size and zeta potential measurement instrument. The access to all these instruments and tools are offered to our users for a fixed daily charge (see User Fees page in the User Info section of this web site), which also includes all supplies provided in the facility. For more information on the individual tools, please consult with their specific tool descriptions or contact Fettah Kosar at 617-495-1738 or fkosar@cns.fas.harvard.edu. |
Comments:
Please note that there are additional safety pre-requisites that must be completed prior to use. Please see the Nanoparticle Safety Requirements Form, which is located at the URL:http://www.cns.fas.harvard.edu/users/forms.php
The Nanoparticles Facility is located in the ground floor of the Laboratory for Integrated Science and Engineering (LISE) building. |
