The biomaterials room is designed as a preparation room for biological samples for all types of imaging and various types of culturing.
Long or short term cell culturing of animal (mammal or invertebrate), plant, and bacterial (with permission of room supervisor only) is possible in separate incubators. NO fungal culturing is allowed due to possible contamination. Three laminar flow hoods are available for usage, including 1 dedicated for mammalian cell culturing and handling and 2 for a combination of cell culturing and procedures. All LFHs are UV sterilizable.
